Diego Bendezu

Biography

Diego is a photographer born and raised in Ica, Peru whose work is deeply inspired by his South American heritage and his life between cultures. Having spent more than half of his life in New York, his perspective is shaped by the immigrant experience: movement, adaptation, and the quiet strength found in family and community. His projects often focus on people and environments that exist outside the spotlight, highlighting beauty in the ordinary and dignity in everyday life. Whether working within fashion, documentary, or portraiture, Diego approaches each project with an emphasis on authenticity, emotional presence, and respect for his subjects. Through his work, Diego aims to contribute to a broader representation of Latin American culture, creating images that feel intimate, grounded, and human, reframing a world that has too often been seen from the outside.
